Q: Do you support developers?

We do not provide support to developers or their games at Alaab Space. We focus on educating them in the pre-development stage. There are several projects specialized in supporting developers, so we do not need to cover this aspect

We try as much as possible to use only Arabic in all our content, but there are some terms that we have not yet adopted an Arabic equivalent for, and much of the content we recommend is in other languages due to the lack of Arabic educational content for this industry

Who is Alaab Space for?

Alaab Space is for anyone interested in game development in the Arab world — from complete beginners to experienced developers, educators, researchers, and organizations working in the regional gaming ecosystem. Our educational content ranges from introductory game culture to advanced technical topics.

What are the development planets?

The development planets represent the four disciplines required to build any game. They are: Designs (mechanics, UX, storytelling), Software (engines, code, mathematics), Visuals (graphics, animation, UI), and Sounds (SFX, music, voice acting). A game cannot be complete without all four. This framework applies to the development phase specifically — not the entire gaming industry.

Is the content in Arabic?

We aim to use Arabic as our primary language across all original content. However, some technical terms do not yet have widely adopted Arabic equivalents, and much of the third-party content we recommend is in English or other languages — due to the current scarcity of Arabic-language game development resources. Closing that gap is central to our localization pillar.

What content do you share on social media?

We share educational content recommendations, course offers, scholarships, and learning opportunities relevant to Arab game developers. We also publish our own original content focused on building both the Arab gaming industry and the skills of individual developers.

Is Alaab Space content free?

Our original research, articles, and the encyclopedia are freely accessible. When we recommend third-party paid courses or resources, we clearly label them as such. We never gate our own educational content behind a paywall.

Do you support developers directly?

No — and intentionally so. We focus on the pre-development educational stage: building the knowledge infrastructure that the entire ecosystem depends on. Several excellent organizations already specialize in direct developer support (funding, incubation, publishing). We collaborate with that ecosystem rather than duplicate it.

Do you cover the full gaming industry or just development?

Our primary focus is the development phase — the craft of making games. The four development planets framework applies specifically here. That said, our research naturally touches adjacent areas like publishing, monetization, and community when they affect development practices.
